Big things Coming For Wall Knights Wrestling Club in 2022-2023

The Wall Knights Wrestling Club has a lot to be excited about in the upcoming season.   Fresh off of Wall 1's inaugural season in the JSJWL A Division which concluded with a fourth place finish, there are high expectations for the team with a talented group of returning wrestlers!   In addition Wall 2 is looking to move into the B Division to seek tougher competition after a tremendous season in the C Division where they finished second as a team in the Team Tournament while winning the C Division Individual Tournament as a Team.   This year will mark the first year that the program has a third team in the League as Wall 3 will launch in the C Division!!

The buzz surrounding the teams and program expectations is not the only thing to be excited about!!   Due to the Generosity of Schulco Real Estate and their partner company, Active Acquisitions, the program will have much needed new wrestling mats for the upcoming season.   This Year will be the third season at Pine Grove Day Camp which has become a hotspot for JSJWL Action and the Pine Grove Theatre will display two brand new Resilite Lightweight Interlocking Mats!!

In addition, all of the expectations of a complete wrestling season of competition including tournaments, DEVO, and JSJWL matches seems to be likely as the world moves further away from the challenges associated with the pandemic.

The program is doing a bit of restructuring in terms of placement of wrestlers in the practice groups.   This is a result of coaches evaluations and decisions to ensure that every wrestler in the program is placed in a practice group that will be most beneficial to their progress moving forward.   It will also ensure that all the practice groups are sized appropriately to ensure that wrestlers get the needed attention in the practice room from coaches.

The program also has plans to move forward with the Girls Program which had kicked off last season.  This year there will be an invitation to girl wrestlers to register throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties and we are looking to add a second practice each week for the Group. With the numbers of Girl Wrestlers in the area, we are expecting that this invitation will bring in enough girls for everyone to have appropriate practice partners based on age and weight.

We are still a couple months away from the season, but the excitement is in the air!!
